Project Owner is the third collapsible section on a project's Project setup tab. It records the party that awarded the work (the building owner, agency, or developer), including their address, phone numbers, time zone, and point of contact.
Owner here means the project owner, not a Contracts Connected user and not a role in your account. It is the awarding body on the other side of your prime contract.

Steps
Open the project and stay on the Project setup tab.
Click Project Owner to expand the section.
Enter the Name of the owner, then choose an Owner Type from the Select dropdown. If your company has no owner types yet, the dropdown reads "No owner types yet." Click Add an owner type inside it, or the Add owner type link under the field, to create one. The type you create is selected for you.
If the owner's address is the same as the jobsite, turn on Same as project location. That copies the address you entered in Project Location into Street, Zip Code, State, and City. Otherwise, type the owner's address into those fields.
Add the Phone Number and Fax Number (both show the format "(XXX) XXX-XXXX"), then set the Time Zone.
Enter POC First & Last Name and POC Email. POC means point of contact, the person you deal with at the owner.
Click Next Section to continue to Project Attachments.
What happens next
The owner details stay on the project and feed your templates. In Settings → Merge fields, the Project group includes owner codes such as Project owner name ({{project_owner_name}}), Project owner type ({{project_owner_type}}), Project owner POC name ({{project_owner_poc_name}}), and Project owner POC email ({{project_owner_poc_email}}). Documents generated from templates that use those codes fill in what you entered here.
If the owner's record needs something the standard fields do not cover, Add New Field sits at the bottom of the section.
If this doesn't work
Same as project location copied nothing, or copied the wrong address → it pulls from the Project Location section. Open Project Location, correct Street, City, State, and Zip Code, then come back.
You expected your own company's details here → this section is for the owner who awarded the job. Your own company information lives in Settings → Company details.
The fields will not accept typing → you likely have view-only access to the project. Ask an Admin in your account to change your role.
