How do I view the audit trail for a contract?

Written by Zach Koerber

Every contract carries its own history of negotiation rounds, actions, and timing, across three layers.

On the contract's task page

  1. Negotiation log: every redline round, grouped (Round 1, Round 2 …) with who sent it and when. Each comment shows the proposed text, the existing text it would replace, its state (e.g. awaiting your response), and the resolution once you accept, reject, or revise it.

  2. Document history: every version of the document, newest first, each with its file name and size, its stage (Sent, Submitted, Resubmitted, Rejected, Signed, Countersigned, Acknowledged, or Approved), who produced it, the date, and view and download buttons. The four most recent are shown, with See all to open the rest. It appears whenever the task has a document trail.

  3. Timeline: the task's own event history, at the bottom.

At the project level

The project's Activity tab logs every action across the project (status changes, uploads, reminders) with who did it (or Auto for system actions), timestamps, filters, and an Export button for audits and disputes.

At the vendor level

The vendor's compliance panel (Tracker → AI Insight) shows Recent activity: reminders sent and package events for that vendor.

What happens next

The trail builds itself; nothing needs to be turned on. For a dispute or audit package, export the project Activity log and pair it with the contract's negotiation log.

If this doesn't work

  • If you need to prove when a change was proposed and answered → the Negotiation log's per-round timestamps are the authoritative record.

  • If an event isn't in the project Activity feed → widen the date-range filter, or check the task's own Timeline.
