A vendor-related task sends a one-off document, request, or acknowledgment tied to the vendor themselves, not a specific project: things like MSAs, vendor onboarding paperwork, or a code of conduct.
Steps
Click the blue + Create button (top right, on any page) and choose New Task.
Under Task Type, select "For a vendor", for tasks tied to a vendor, not a specific project.
Work through the steps in the dialog:
Vendors: pick the vendor.
Documents: attach or request the document(s) involved.
Fill in the details: this step appears only if the document you picked has merge fields.
People: assign your internal coordinator and the vendor-side recipient.
Finish at Review & Send, then click Send task in the bottom-right of the drawer. The button stays greyed out until the steps above are complete.
What happens next
The request goes to the vendor and shows up in their portal. On your side it tracks like any other task, in the Dashboard Waiting on Vendor count and on the vendor's profile under Commitments & Documents, and comes back to your action items when they respond.
If this doesn't work
If the document is really about one project (an addendum, a safety acknowledgment) → use a project-related task instead, so it files under the right project.
If the vendor doesn't appear → check their status on the Vendors page; a vendor still in Invite Sent hasn't finished setup.
