What will I see when I first log in?

Written by Mel

You land on Dashboard. It lists the work you have with each prime, and the Action column tells you how many items are waiting on you.

Applies to: Vendors signing in to Contracts Connected for the first time.

Steps

  1. Read the sidebar on the left. Under WORKSPACE you have Dashboard (⌘D), Tasks (⌘T), and Companies (⌘V). Above them are Search... (⌘K) and Chat with AI (⌘J). At the bottom are Notifications, Help (⌘/), and your name. There is also a Collapse sidebar control if you want more room for the table.

  1. Read the table. The columns are Project, Commitment, Prime Project Number, Your Project Number, Prime, Value, Action, and Status. Project carries the job name with its commitment reference underneath. Prime Project Number is the prime's number for the job. Value is the contract amount. Status shows where the commitment stands, for example Active.

  2. Check the Action column first. It carries a count of what a prime is waiting on, written like "6 need action". Click that count and Contracts Connected opens Tasks narrowed to that project. That count is your starting point, not the project name.

  3. Fill in Your Project Number if you track jobs by your own number. The cell reads Set your number until you enter one. Click it and a Project number field opens in the cell. It sits beside the Prime Project Number the prime assigned.

  4. Use the controls above the table to narrow a long list. Search projects… searches by name. Prime opens a list of the primes you work for with its own Search primes… box. Status offers Active, Closed, and Terminated. Contract phase offers Executed, Out for Signature, Awaiting your signature, Redlines Received, and Redlines Returned. Needs action is a one-click filter: the page adds a Needs action chip, tells you how many rows it is showing, and gives you Clear all to drop it.

  5. Click a project to open it. The header repeats the prime's project number, Your ref, the value, the prime, and your contact there. The page has Overview, Tasks, and Documents tabs and opens on Overview, with an Action Required banner telling you how many items need you on that project and a Complete your tasks button beside it. Below that, a Contract section shows the agreement with its Document, Signer, Status, and Amount, and a Contract package section lists each required document with Document, Responsible, Status, and Action, where the action is Submit document or View.

  1. Click a person's name anywhere you see one, for example the prime in the Prime column. A Contact drawer opens with their name, their title and role badge, then EMAIL, MOBILE, TITLE, and COMPANY, with View full profile at the bottom. A BUSINESS line sits between MOBILE and TITLE for contacts who have a business number on file.

  1. Click Notifications at the bottom of the sidebar if it shows a count. It opens a full page with four tabs: Waiting on You, All Activity, Contracts, and Compliance & Tasks. An All projects dropdown narrows the list to one project. Mark all read clears the sidebar count and confirms with "1 notification marked as read". Select group switches the list into selection mode, where it becomes Deselect group and a Mark read control appears.

What happens next

Dashboard is your project view. Tasks is your to-do view, and it is the faster route once you know your way around. Open Tasks to see your open items in one list, with the prime, the project and a status on each row such as Not submitted, Signature required, or Awaiting work start, then use the view dropdown and Filters to narrow it. Companies lists the primes you work for, so open a prime there when you need their standing requirements rather than one project's paperwork.

If this doesn't work

  • If Dashboard shows no rows → check whether Needs action is still switched on, then check Notifications and Tasks. A prime's standing setup requests live under Companies, and they can arrive before any project does.

  • If you expected more items in the sidebar → three items under WORKSPACE is correct for a vendor account. Dashboard, Tasks, and Companies are the whole workspace nav.

  • If Your Project Number still reads Set your number → nothing has been entered yet. It is optional and the row works without it.

  • If Waiting on You says "Nothing's waiting on you" but a prime says otherwise → check the other three tabs, and set the All projects dropdown back to all projects.

  • If the project Documents tab looks empty → it shows approved and completed documents only. Anything still in flight sits on the project's Tasks tab.

  • If you cannot see the whole table on a narrow screen → click Collapse sidebar to widen the page.

  • If you would rather ask than click around → open Chat with AI and pick one of the suggested questions, such as "My compliance status" or "Documents I still owe".
