As an Admin, you can override the approval and move the commitment forward yourself. Open the commitment that is In Review, click the ... (More approval actions) button on the approval bar, choose Override approval (admin), then click Override and approve. This marks every pending approver as approved and advances the commitment to Approved in one action.
This is the normal path when an approver is out on PTO or traveling and the contract can't wait.
Applies to: Admins
Steps
Open the commitment that is waiting on approval. From your dashboard Pipeline, find it in the In Review column and click Review & Approve, or open it from the project's Commitments tab.
Look at the approval bar at the top of the commitment. It shows the approver avatars, a Waiting on [name] status with the approved count (for example, 0/2), and, on the right, a ... button. Reject and Approve appear only when the commitment is waiting on you personally. If you are overriding on someone else's behalf, the ... button is the only control you will see.
Click the ... button (More approval actions) at the right of the approval bar. A menu opens with one option, Override approval (admin).
Click Override approval (admin). The Override approval dialog opens.
No required fields: The REASON (optional) field is optional. A reason you enter (for example, "Marcus is on PTO; we need this out today for Tower B mobilization.") is saved with the override in the activity log, so it is worth adding.
Enter a reason in the REASON (optional) field if you want to record why you are overriding.
Important: Override and approve marks every pending approver as approved and advances the commitment straight to Approved in one action. Use it only when an approver is unavailable and the contract can't wait. The override, and any reason you enter, is recorded in the activity log.
Click Override and approve.
What happens next
The commitment moves from In Review to Approved. Every pending approver is marked approved: the avatars show green check badges and read All approved, and the status badge next to the commitment name changes to Approved. The primary button becomes Send Commitment Package, which takes you to the delivery setup. The override, with any reason you entered, is written to the activity log as an audit trail.
If this doesn't work
If you don't see the ... (More approval actions) button → either the commitment is not In Review, or your role is not Admin. The ... button shows for company Admins on any commitment in review, whether or not the approval is waiting on you.
If the menu does not show Override approval (admin) → the override is admin-only. You need the Admin permission role to override an approval.
If you want to change who reviews the commitment instead of overriding → the Approval flow on the commitment is read-only. Edit the approvers under Project Setup → Commitment Approvals with Manage in project settings.
