Open the vendor from Vendors in the left sidebar and select the Contacts & Info tab. Use Add contact to add a person, Suggest edits to change the company details, and Suggest new office to add an office location.
The wording is deliberate. You can add people freely, but the company details belong to the vendor, so changes go to them as suggestions.
Applies to: Admins and Managers
Steps
Click Vendors in the left sidebar (or press ⌘V), then click the vendor to open their Vendor Profile.
Select the Contacts & Info tab.
To add a person, go to the Contacts section and click Add contact. Each contact on the list shows their role, email address, and phone number.
To change the company record, click Suggest edits in the Company Information section. This section holds LEGAL NAME, DBA / TRADE NAME, EIN (TAX ID), COMPANY TYPE, PRIMARY TRADE, and WEBSITE. COMPANY TYPE is shown for reference only and is not one of the fields you can suggest a change to.
To add an address, go to Office Locations and click Suggest new office. Existing locations show as Office blocks, for example Main Office.
What happens next
Contacts you add appear in the Contacts section on this tab.
Company Information and Office Locations work differently, and the labels tell you why. The vendor owns their own company record. Your legal name, EIN, and office addresses for them are their data, shared across everyone they work with, so a change you make is put forward as a suggestion rather than written over their record silently. That is why the controls read Suggest edits and Suggest new office instead of Edit and Add.
When you submit, a confirmation reads "3 edit suggestions sent to Acme Electric." and the Company Information header shows a 3 suggested edits count for the rest of your visit. The vendor reviews what you sent in their own Settings, under Profile suggestions ("Review edits contractors have suggested for your company profile"). Each suggestion shows the Current and Suggested values side by side, and the vendor clicks Accept or Reject. Rejecting lets them attach a note back to you. Nothing changes on the vendor's record until they accept, and there is no fixed turnaround time.
If this doesn't work
Your suggested edit has not appeared on the record → suggestions are not applied instantly. If it is holding up a commitment, contact the vendor directly and ask them to confirm the change from their side.
You need a contact's email address corrected on a pending invitation → see How do I change the email address used to invite a vendor?. Suggest edits covers the company record, not a contact's email address.
You do not see Add contact, Suggest edits, or Suggest new office → these controls only appear on general contractor accounts. If you are signed in on a vendor account, you update your own company record from Settings rather than from this tab.
