The Vendor Setup number on your Vendors list shows how many setup items a vendor has completed out of the total tracked for them, so 5/14 means the vendor has finished 5 of 14 setup items.
It is normal to check this the first time you are tracking vendor onboarding across your directory.
Steps
Click Vendors in the left sidebar.
Find the Vendor Setup column, between Status and Active Projects. Each row shows a progress bar and a fraction in the X/14 format.
Click the progress bar to open the Vendor Setup popover. It lists Received (n), Outstanding (n) and a Total row, and clicking any of those counts opens the vendor's Vendor Setup tab filtered to exactly those items. The number before the slash is how many items the vendor has finished. The 14 is your organization's default tracked set, not a ceiling. An Admin can add or remove items at Settings > Vendor setup requirements, so your total may be higher or lower.
Understand what counts toward the number. Setup items are the onboarding and compliance documents you request from a vendor (your subcontractor, supplier, or consultant). You choose them when you invite the vendor, in the Vendor Setup Requirements section of the Invite new vendor form. Add vendor opens a search of Contracts Connected first, and Invite new vendor appears only when no company matches. By default the section reads "9 items will be issued with this invite" and lists them under REQUIRED ITEMS:
W-9 Tax Form
Certificate of Insurance (ACORD 25)
Contractor License
Workers' Comp COI
EMR Letter
Safety Program / OSHA 300A
EIN / Tax ID
Company Address
Bank / Payment Info
Required fields: to send the invite at all, the REQUIRED TO SEND INVITE section needs Company Name and Contact Email.
Important: using Deselect all or unchecking an item in Vendor Setup Requirements means Contracts Connected will not request that document from the vendor, so it will not be collected. Re-check anything you still need before you click Send invitation.
(Optional) Adjust which items you request. In the Vendor Setup Requirements section, check or uncheck any item, or use Deselect all to clear the list. The items you leave checked are the ones issued to that vendor. They do not change the Vendor Setup total, which comes from your organization's list at Settings > Vendor setup requirements and is the same for every vendor.
What happens next
The Vendor Setup number updates on its own as the vendor completes each requested item, so you never refresh or edit it. A vendor with the Invite sent status sits at a low fraction, such as 2/14, until they finish uploading, and the progress bar fills as items come in. Once every requested item is on file, the bar is full.
If this doesn't work
If you do not see the Vendor Setup column → open the column settings with the gear icon at the right end of the header row and turn it on, or widen your browser window.
If the number stays at a low fraction after you invite a vendor → the vendor has not uploaded those items yet. The count only moves as each requested item is completed on their side, not when you send the invite.
If a vendor's number is lower than you expected → click the progress bar and read the Outstanding list to see exactly what is still missing. The total on the right of the slash is not set per vendor, so it does not drop when you request fewer items at invite. It is your organization's list, which an Admin edits at Settings > Vendor setup requirements.
