1. Understand When to Use This Process
Purpose
Normally, subcontractors should:
Log into the Contracts Connected Portal directly, and
Upload their signed contracts and other required documents themselves.
However, if you receive these files by email, you can upload them manually to keep the project moving without delay.
💡 Tip: Manual uploads are treated as final and automatically approved — use this only when you’ve already reviewed and confirmed the documents.
2. Access the Project
Steps
From the left-hand menu, click Projects.
Open the specific project associated with the signed documents — for example:
ABC Building Repair and Repaint
Locate the task showing a “Signature Required” status on the contract.
Click on the item to open it.
3. Upload the Signed Contract
Steps
Inside the task view, click “Upload Signed Contract.”
The upload screen will appear showing all requested documents for that scope or contract.
Drag and drop your files directly into the upload area.
💡 Tip: You can upload multiple documents at once — this feature reduces the number of clicks required when you’ve received multiple attachments in a single email.
4. Upload Additional Documents (If Applicable)
If the subcontractor emailed other supporting documents (for example, insurance forms or certifications), you can upload them in the same way:
Drag and drop the additional files onto the upload screen.
Each file will automatically link to the correct project and document type.
5. Finalize and Verify
Steps
Once all documents are uploaded, return to the Tasks view.
The uploaded items will now show as automatically approved, since manual uploads are assumed to be reviewed before submission.
No additional approval workflow is triggered in this case.
💡 Tip: If you want to track who uploaded each document, Contracts Connected automatically records the uploader’s name and timestamp in the project history.
6. Key Takeaway
Use the manual upload option to keep projects moving when subcontractors send files by email instead of uploading them.
This streamlined process allows you to drag, drop, and auto-approve multiple documents in one step — minimizing delays and administrative effort.
